  • Equipment Design

    FirstPD are well placed to integrate into an existing design team or, alternatively, to allow clients to outsource entire work packs to be delivered to a specification.

  • System Optimisation

    It is often an area of engineering which is overlooked in the design phase in favour of expediting drawing release. FirstPD are an excellent partner to work in parallel to a design team to optimise the sizing of motors and cylinders. Our approach involves modelling every possible load case and taking a more aggressive view on allowable utilisation.

  • Design Reviews

    Fit, Form, Function and Safety. FirstPD are available to perform design reviews and failure mode and effects assessments (FMEA / FMECA) on existing equipment or to provide an element of de-risking soon to be manufactured designs.

  • Accident Investigation

    FirstPD have a proven track record of investigating accidents offshore involving hoist systems and undertaking detailed root causes analysis. With our wealth of knowledge in this field we can provide an expert opinion to determine root cause identify lessons learnt.

  • Commissioning

    Competent personnel are essential for any site work. FirstPD have trained personnel ready to lead Factory or Site Acceptance Testing (FAT / SAT) in additiona to produce test plans and risk assessments.

  • Troubleshooting

    Complex systems involving automation invariably lead to tricky troubleshooting problems. We find a fresh pair of eyes is often the quickest remedy. Load cells issues are often top of the list and FirstPD have a significant amount of experiencein this field.

We place added emphasis on the importance of field experience. Chartered Engineers who are as effective on site as they are behind a desk bring added value to projects - allowing the seamless transition of a project from Design to Delivery. This wholistic approach to a project life cycle delivers increased productivity and efficiency. This often isn’t tangible when costing a project at the sales phase, however, project’s over-running due to excess engineering hours to get a project ‘over the line’ are something which all companies who have been in business long enough have experienced.
